These photographs were taken with the macro lens Canon MP-E 65mm, a very sharp lens which can magnify up to 5 times.
This magnification enables us to capture hidden aspects of opals invisible to the naked eye, revealing extraordinary details and colours.
Each photo represents an area approximately 10 x 12 mm and remains sharp even when enlarged.
